Lesson 3

Today the class discussed rays, and how they are an extension of our knowledge about line segments.  The class also examined how rays can be used to make angles.  The angle discussion centered around naming and classifying angles and Postulate 4, The Angle Addition Postulate.  The day's homework is below.

Pages 17-18: # 1-7 All, 9-15 Odd, 26, 27, 30

Lesson 2

Today we discussed line segments.  There are three important properties of line segments that students should have in their notes.  Other important parts of the discussion involved how to identify a postulate, and two new postulates.  Postulate #1, the Ruler Postulate, discussed two different ways to measure the distance between two points.  Postulate #2 covered how to two line segments can be related to a third, longer segment where there are three collinear points.  Please check the textbook or come to me with any questions regarding any of these content areas.  The homework for the day is below.

Pages 10-12: #2, 4, 5-8, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19-22 All, 24, 27
